The Dillingham House is an historic 17th century First Period house located at Main Street (Massachusetts Route 6A) in Brewster, Ma.
A chance to go back in history in what many agree is Brewster’s oldest house. Constructed by John Dillingham c.1660s the house is a 2.5 story timber-frame, full saltbox with only small alterations on its exterior. Enlarged and restored between 1915 and 1918 the interior of the home features 18th century paneling and molding along with original 17th century summer beams. Additions include a second floor shed dormer with two more bedrooms and a bathroom, and below an enclosed sleeping porch. The "Dillingham House" was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 30, 1976, and has since been modernized to include heat, electricity, and plumbing.
Now privately owned, this is a rare opportunity to experience a guided tour through the rooms of this historic homestead and feel the voices of the past speak softly to you.
Ticket includes a paperback book about the history of Brewster!
