Saturday, November 15, 2008 After a teaching career in english at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, Ellen St. Sure turned to historical research which brought her to Brewster. Ellen is particularly interested in the lives of people living in Brewster prior to the time in the 1860's when many residents moved away. She is updating existing research on Brewster's old houses and is working on a collection of biographical materials on the people buried in the Lower Road Cemetery. Ellen is currently the Archivist for the Town of Brewster as well as a member of the Brewster Historical Commission, the Brewster Archives Committee and also serves on the Board of the Lower Road Cemetery. Ellen St. Sure, will enchant us with "grave stories" from the Lower Road Cemetery! Please note that all of our educational programs are open to the public, free of charge.
